Group work is an integral part of studying – whether in presentation groups or self-organised study groups. Finding each other online and working together reliably poses a particular challenge. For virtual collaboration to succeed, you need the right digital tools and tips for using them.

Seafile is a cloud service that allows LUH students to synchronise and share files. Access is via WebSSO. In Seafile, students can create, share and edit documents in MS Office format (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and OpenDocument format online and collaboratively.
LUH students can use the cloud service Overleaf to work together simultaneously on TeX documents (text typesetting system in source code). The documents can be downloaded as PDFs or source code at any time. The integrated chat function helps with coordination. Access to the service is also via WebSSO.

LUH students can use the BigBlueButton tool in Stud.IP for video conferences. Ask your lecturer to set up the tool in their Stud.IP course and make it available to student working groups. Jitsi Meet is another open-source platform available to students for online meetings. The software is relatively easy to use, offers a chat function and enables desktop sharing, among other things. Access is via WebSSO. The DFN scheduler makes it easier to find a time that suits everyone.

Engaging in dialogue, networking, editing texts together: students at LUH have various functions available to them in Stud.IP and ILIAS for this purpose. Tools for collaborative text editing and the exchange of information and opinions can be used on both platforms.
