Course Content:
The course is designed as a learning journey focusing on working with storytelling practices across cultures. It starts with working with your own stories so that you can better understand your strengths and your skills you bring to the intercultural projects and the impact of different stories on you. In the second step we are going to look at collective narratives and discuss the dangers of a single story and possibilities to avoid stereotypes. Especially while working across cultures and in the Diversity and Inclusion context – in intergenerational projects, in multicultural teams, etc. storytelling can add value to enhance mutual understanding and leverage diversity as well as foster inclusion. Additionally, we are going to work with future scenarios as storytelling not only relates to the past but also can be applied to co-create future narratives. After a short introduction to working with stories at the individual, collective and global level, you are going to work with the EPIC model to create compelling stories and will get to know the neuroscience of storytelling, to better understand how stories work. In every session, you will have time to create and co-create your stories using story canvas, the hero’s journey, the heroine’s journey, and the future scenarios.
Nowadays, in the multitude of information, stories can serve us to reduce complexity, to enhance meaning-making and to motivate ourselves and others. Storytelling and storylistening are hence very important skills that can be practiced and continuously enhanced.
The immersive learning is guaranteed by interactive storytelling activities, working in the UNESCO story circles, and trying out various forms of telling stories.

- Rising awareness on current narratives and designing future scenarios
Study Performance:
Regular attendance and active participation, involving in practical exercises, reflecting on practical exercises, presenting of work results, completion of possible tasks between the course days, seminar language is English.
