ZQS/Quality Development – Centre for Quality in Teaching and Learning (ZQS)

Our goal is to further develop attractive study programmes and promote good teaching and learning conditions at Leibniz University. To this end, we support and assist those responsible for good teaching and good study conditions at all levels of the university.

We develop and organise tailor-made quality processes and initiate, promote and moderate study-related consultation and decision-making processes. We support internal quality discussions by providing quality-related data, information and services. In this way, we provide new impetus for the development of degree programmes.

Evaluation and surveys

We conduct surveys throughout the entire student life cycle, discuss the results, coordinate cross-faculty surveys and support the further development of course evaluation. Based on the course evaluation, we create an Teaching Quality Index (LQI) for the faculties.

Competence orientation in learning and teaching

We advise on the development and design of competence-oriented degree programmes, examinations and teaching, and offer scientific didactic support in the competence-oriented design and evaluation of innovative teaching projects.

LQL-Review/Accreditation

We organise and supervise internal accreditation procedures (LQL-Review), bring together the perspectives of all those involved in the review process, and ensure peer-supported assessment of the degree programmes by internal and external experts.

Student Complaint Management and Ombudperson's Office

We support students in the Ombudsperson's Office by handling complaints, criticism and suggestions, as well as suggestions for improvement, and by mediating in cases of conflict during their studies.

Quality management in study and teaching

Leibniz University has been awarded the Accreditation Council's seal of approval as a system-accredited university for its quality assurance and quality development procedures in teaching and learning. We are continuously developing this QM system further – in close consultation and cooperation with those involved at LUH and with the involvement of external expertise.
