Course Content:
Due to the radical change to digital teaching and learning during the Covid-19 crisis, the relevance to obtain digital competence for learning and active participation in society becomes even more visible. Not only at universities, but also in companies the ability to confidently work in a digital world is an increasingly relevant recruitment factor. That includes not only the advanced use of digital devices, tools and apps, but also, for example, the evaluation and filtering of information, technical skills in the area of data protection as well as and knowledge on copyright.

This course combines the use of certain tools with discourses in different areas such as law and digital identity. The willingness to work independently and in groups is essential for the participation in the seminar.

Concrete topics:

  • Websites, blogs and social media for collecting information, disseminating knowledge and to network in study, science and business
  • Reference Management Programms
  • Collaborative work with wikis and docs
  • Creating websites and embedding digital content
  • Internet law, Creative Commons, OpenAccess, Search Engine Optimization, Data protection, Copyright

Learning Goals:

  • To combine practical knowledge with theoretical analysis of digital tools for collecting, processing and disseminating information
  • To obtain basic technical knowledge in the use of Content Management Systems, collaborative work and communication apps

Study Performance:
Full attendance and active participation, independent involvement in exercises, reflecting on exercises and seminar content, presentation of work results, completion of possible tasks, independent preparation of content and materials (also between the course days).
